A Very Late Halloween Entry

The Ninja and the Mermaid had a blast on Halloween.

It always cracks me up when they choose costumes. Always predictable. Brooke wants a boy costume and Abby just want to wear something pretty. Too cute.

Weekend Fun

Picking up Ladies

We now have Chickens!

Bryan and I have wanted to get a few chickens since we moved to Tonasket. 

The place we live has really big coops and it sounded like a fun adventure.

A wonderful lady we go to church with has lots of chickens and said we could have some and the adventure started. 

 We brought them home and got them in the coop.

 

Then the first thing we did was give them names.....above is Mama

From left to right we have Winnie, Badonkadonk, Pepper and Snow White.

 We got the chickens home and while I was getting the food and water ready Mama made a run for it out the door. Being a "city girl" i didn't try to stop or block her i just got out of the way. Now I had a chicken out and no real idea on how to catch it. 

Plan 1: I tried to talk Brooke into catching her. Fail

Plan 2: I tried to coral her pack to the coop. Fail

Plan 3: walk up behind her and pick her up. Success

Even if it did take me like 20 min.

 About 18 hours later we had our first egg. The girls were really excited.

So far we have learned a lot about having chickens. 

They poop a lot, our dog Max will chase them, and they like to hide under the chicken coop. I am sure these chickens will bring many adventures and fun. Already its been fun. The girls and I love going out to the yard and hanging out with these ladies. Just watching them or holding one is pretty soothing.

Okanogan County Fair

We attended the county fair this weekend. 

We had a great time eating food looking at animals and going on rides. 

Then we saw a booth for Mutton Busting. 

For those of you who don't know, mutton busting is bull riding for kids. Instead of a bull they ride a sheep.

Brooke was instantly in love with the idea.

 Brooke had a blast riding!

She held on the whole length of the arena. 

It was super fun to watch. 

Frist Day of School Jitters

We all had good reason to have Jitters the first day. 

For Brooke is was a new school.

For Abby is was starting Kindergarten.

For me it was starting a new job.

 The irony of it all was that I was the only one nervous! 

The girls were as cool as cucumbers. 

The girls made sure to say Hi to the cows while waiting for the bus. 

 

 I tried to talk the girls into riding to school with me. The bus won.

Fall 2013

Camping at Cooper Lake

We went over night camping at Cooper Lake. We brought our dog cooper. He hates camping. He doesn't even like to touch dirt. He spent the whole time trying to not touch the ground. 

Our other dog Max had a great time.

Both Girls played soccer this fall. They both loved it! 

Brooke is more aggressive and would score goals. 

Abby had a great game if she just touched the ball. But she didn't care she had a great time running around the field!

 

 

 

Halloween

Brooke really wanted to be a zombie this year. 

I was a bit hesitant but decided to see how it went. She was a bit terrifying with how much she get into it!!

Abby was a super cute witch!

Don't worry Abby took care of that Zombie with one of her spells!

Carving Pumpkins

I got into making Halloween food this year.

The night before Halloween we had pumpkin quesadillas.

Then on Halloween we had Monster Meatloaf! 

It was a big hit!

Brooke had her first Crazy Hair Day for School.

We went on a hike in Oregon

Brooke had her first grade program

And one of our fall favorites, Apple picking.
