Brooke is 4.
I still cannot believe it! It does not feel real. Some days she is still that little baby I held and other days I cannot believe how poised and fun she is. Brooke brings such great fun and laughter to our house. She does test her Mom and Dad everyday, but we know it's just a strong spirit. :) She is coming into being a wonderful big sister, she is at times so kind and helpful to Abby. Brooke acts so tough and independent but I cherish those moments she will just sit on my lap and cuddled.

A little about this great kid:
- Her favorite color is purple and green. She cannot choose one color.
- Did you see that white bear in all the pictures? That's Teddy. I brought him for pictures so I could take a few with him to remember how much she loves that bear. He ended up being in all the pictures! She will not put him down.
- She is a expert at conning you into doing things her way. She is a great negotiator.
- Brooke is fascinated about how the body works. She is always asking me what her heart looks like or how her eye works.
- Brooke loves art. She is happy to color all day long. Her teachers tell me that she never leaves the art table at preschool. She is always making people cards and drawing the people important to her.
- Brooke is always looking forward to the next adventures in her life. She asks me about things she can do someday. Here are a few "Mom someday can I fly a helicopter over a volcano?" "Mom, can I go to the moon someday?"
- Brooke loves to sing and makes up her own songs and then makes me learn them.
- Brooke loves her class at church. Her class is leaning 1 sentence from a scripture every month. I cannot believe how much she can do. The first week she came home with this challenge she told me if she did it she would get a sticker for her scripture bookmark. She wanted that sticker to bad. She worked all week and was the first kid in her class to say the scripture to her teacher.
- Brooke continues to love to learn. She loves sitting down and doing preschool workbook pages with us. I always ask her "Is this still fun? We can stop when it's not fun." She always tells me she want to go on.
- Brooke can write her name and is working on writing the uppercase and lower case letters.
- The last few nights Brooke has been coming out of her room after we put her to bed to "Go potty". Tonight I found out she has been just standing in the bathroom for a minuet and then coming out and asking for 1 more hug and kiss. I know what she is up to but I love that extra special moment in my day.
Funny things she has said lately:
On Superbowl Sunday: Me: Brooke do you want a brat?"
Brooke: "Sure"
Bryan "Brooke are you a brat?"
Brooke "No, I'm a cheesehead!"
Brooke was dancing and said to me: "I'm doing the smash potato dance!"
One day in the car Brooke told me all about how she wants to grow up and be just like Grandma Rehfeldt. She wants to live in Ohio, and have two dogs, and twin girls. She went on and on telling me everything she knows about Grandma and how she is going to be just like her.
In the car: Brooke: "Mom can I have a piece of gum?"
Me: "No"
Brooke: "Please, please, please, please!!!"
Me: "Still no"
Brooke: " But mom, when i bug you a lot you always give me gum!"
(What does that say about my parenting?!)
Brooke was sitting in time out for some reason......she was not happy with me.
From time out she said "Mom you are just like Captain Hook!" I have to laugh at her.....that was a pretty good one! :)
