My big preschooler. A bunch of big events happened for Brooke this past year. She went to her first movie with Daddy on a "date". She went to school for the first time, went trick-or-treating, she had her first hair cut in a salon, and even kissed a turkey! We made a big move to a new place. She caught her first fish (Bryan would say this was the most important).

Brooke is doing really well in her development and skills.  She is hard of hearing and you would NEVER know it. She tested in the 85% for her age. The developmental specialist sat me down to tell me the test results and started with "you have such a smart little girl..........she is such a brilliant manipulator!" Is that a compliment? I'm not sure. She knows the alphabet and can recognized most upper and lower case letters. She can count to 20 and only leaves out 14. She can identify all the basic shapes and colors. She can sing songs and not miss any of the words, her favorite some is "I am a child of God". We are learning to tell time. And she is speaking in 7-10 word sentences. We are so proud of her.

Brooke loves life. A few weeks ago when we were at the park she was on the swings and she was really excited. She started listing this she loves. "I love the grass, I love the trees,.........(pause, then at the top of her lungs) I LOVE THE SKY!".

She does have quite the flair for drama. She uses it to her advantage all the time. A few days ago.......(mom) Brooke will you please go put this is the laundry room?" (Brooke) " I can't.......I'm just too scared!".

Brooke still loves Dora but I think she is starting to move onto the Disney princesses. We have been planning her Dora cake for months now. A month ago I let her watch the Little Mermaid, just to get her to sit still for a hour. :) Now all she wants is a Ariel cake.........sorry honey....next year.

One thing that makes Brooke so dear to me is that........she is me! She looks more like Bryan but under that she is just like her mommy. She is for sure the payback for what I did to my parents! I am so glad that I understand how she works. I think it's going to help those teenage years. I hope!

I know this girl has great things ahead of her in the next year. I can't wait to see what she comes up with next.
