Poopie Day

** caution ** of you do not want to hear about a few GROSS poop stories skip this post!! I am not kidding this gets bad! :)

I try and keep things upbeat on this blog. I try to focus on the positive in life. We have hard days and tough times but that is not want I want to remember in the years to come. Today is an exception. But I know this day will become funny in a few years. Actually I am already starting to laugh.

It all started this morning when Brooke woke up. We heard her in her room for awhile but she was not upset so we left her and Abby in there to play. When we got up to get them going at about 7:00 I knew something was wrong the second Bryan opened the door. Brooke still wears a diaper during the night. She just doesn't have the bladder maturity yet to hold it. This morning she had pooped in her diaper and decided to take it off. Not only did she take it off she wrote with it all over the room!! Why do kids do this? I will never understand. She was in a large amount of trouble and then had to help us clean it up. After a bath and a talk and a hug we went on with the day.

I watch two kids three mornings a week. A 1 year old and a 3 year old. This morning I put little Davis down for a nap with a clean diaper. When I got him up a hour later he had a huge "blow out" all over. After cleaning him, getting the clothes in the wash, and cleaning the bed we moved on.

Then I got Abby up from her nap.....of coarse she had a poopie diaper.

Davis was done eating snack in the highchair so I went to switch him and Abby out so she could eat. Not so fast......Davis had another "blow out" in the seat of the high chair. So we cleaned Davis up again and moved on.

Then Abby was stinking again.....another poopie diaper.

Then I get a call from Bryan. He was out helping some fisheries guys do a survey and locked his keys in the car. After the kids go home I pack up the girls and head a ways down the road to rescue him. The kids fall asleep in the car and now I know Brooke will not nap when we get home.

When we get home I let Brooke say up a bit past nap time to get tired while Bryan headed off to wait in line for the H1N1 vaccines. I decide to put Brooke in her room to see if she will take a short nap. She is quite for a while and then about a hour later she started to whine. I thought she had fallen asleep and now woke up. Oh no was I in for a surprise. She had a repeat of that mornings activities with more poop everywhere! But this time she added smearing it into the carpet all over!!

While I am working with Brooke Bryan called to tell us to get down to the school fast because the line just formed and he is close to the front. I really don't want to miss these vaccines. I just don't want to have to go through being sick and I am a little paranoid. I just worry about the girls.

So I am trying to get the poopie Brooke clean and dressed, Abby up from her nap, dressed, fed and myself presentable and out the door. By the time we are in the car we have 15 min to get there and it's 15 minuets away. I am driving feeling the worry set in. If we were sent back to the end of the line, we didn't have time to wait again. They were offering them tomorrow but Bryan has class all day and I didn't want to stand there with the girls alone.

I am supposed to be at the school when and see it down the road, I see the construction sign and detour. I had to go all the way around following a tractor...we all can imagine how slow that was!! By this time I just want to cry, I made all the effort I don't want to miss it. We get to the school but there are so many cars I have to park a ways away, and get stuck in a ditch trying to park on the side of the road. It was NOT my best work. In my defence I was panicked.

Then I grab the girls out of the car and start to run. Poor little Brooke had to run the way in with her shoes on the wrong feet. She wanted to do it by herself, but it kept making her trip and I would carry/drag her until she got back on her feet. Then we had to fight though the line to the front with people glaring at us until we found Bryan at the front. We made it! Then after one crying Abby, a freaking out Brooke, we were out of there.

Bryan got me out of the ditch and we headed home. To shampoo the carpet and take out pizza for dinner.

After you are done snickering at my pain enjoy this video of some of Abby's first steps.
I hope your day was better then mine!! love to all, Brit
