In Memory

Marleen Ann Magoon passed away today. She was my Grandma. I share my middle name with her. So does my Mom and Brooke, it's very special to me.

I have great memories of her but one will always be my favorite:
For a few years while I was a young adolescent I helped her put up her Christmas Tree. We would do it all day long the day after Thanksgiving. We would get out the ornaments and shine the silver. I would put on more lights then any tree ever needed. But she would brag about how many she had on HER tree to anyone who would listen. Then we would decorate and watch movies. We always watched Grumpy Old Men, Grumpier Old Men, and Titanic. Strange I know. I still think of her every time I see of hear of those movies. After we were all done with the lights, ornaments, beads and topper, we would sit back and watch it sparkle. She was always so sad when the tree had to come down. I always loved that day of the year.

I remember help with homework, and time spent at the lake house, dinner with them almost every night, and a card in the mail every holiday. For Halloween we each got a large bag of M&M's but you had to get there first to select the favorite flavor. My siblings and I still thought this was fun in High School.
You will be missed, I love you
